Golfer-Realtor George Cooke honored as "Best in Client Satisfaction for 2009"

Friendly George Cooke is an active member of the RB Men's Executive Golf Club (Thursday Group). How he finds time to play golf is beyond me.

A 25 year resident, George has a long record of community involvement. He has served on both the RB Community Council and RB Planning Board, and has twice been President of the High Country West Homeowners Association. As a long-time chair and member of the RB Traffic and Transportation Committee, he has been instrumental in numerous traffic and transportation projects including the planned BRT Station on I-15, Camino Del Norte road improvements and pedestrian bridge, sound walls, and traffic safety in residential communities and near schools. He is President of the Rancho Bernardo Hall of Fame, an organization which honors outstanding community volunteers. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Rancho Bernardo Historical Society.

George has an innovative collection of aerial photographs which he shares in the community and uses to help market his listings. He has donated his aerial photographs to the community centers and various organizations in and around Rancho Bernardo. In 2006 he distributed 25,000 copies of his “Get the Big Picture” calendar, filled with spectacular aerial photographs of Rancho Bernardo. Many of these photos can be seen on his website, GeorgeCooke.com, along with lots of community and real estate information.

Tom Reid, Oaks North Men's Golf Club 2007-net Champion

The photo of entrepreneur Tom Reid on his business card was taken in 1985 in Big Bend National Park while he was preparing for a golf tournament south of the border in Mexico. Some people think he may have been into cattle rustling at that stage in life, and made enough ill-gotten pesos in that field to get into legitimate business ventures in and around Austin, Texas. In due course, Tom rode his horse to Rancho Bernardo and started winning golf tournaments as a member of the Oaks North Men's Golf Club.

Armed with a powerful new driver and other weapons, Tom will be competing in the 2009 Oaks North Men's Golf Club Annual Championship Tournament which takes place on April 21st, April 28st, and May 5th. I would think he stands a good chance to become a repeat winner. Believe me, folks, he can hit the new driver a country mile!

R. B. Mens Executive Golf Club 2009 Club Championship; April 9th Foursomes and Tee Times

By clicking on the image above, those playing in the R. B. Executive Golf Club (Thursday Group) 2009 Club Championship can see a listing of the April 9th Foursomes and Tee Times.

If those in my foursome think it odd that I will be acting a little loose on the greens when putting, they should know that I will try anything to ward off the dreaded "Yips" in a Club Championship. Those who have played with me know that neither the long putter, the belly putter, the
traditional overlap grip, the two fingers down grip, the claw grip, the left below right grip, the side-saddle grip, nor the box grip, have spared me from three putting greens. This time out, I am reverting to the same nonchalant happy-go-lucky hit-or-miss method I used in high school days in Texas. Watch out, boys! I will never be short of the cup.
